Emerge offers opportunities for an expenses-paid campus preview weekend and mentored summer research and graduate school preparation to undergraduates from groups that are underrepresented in graduate education.

McNair Scholars

The MU McNair Scholars Program prepares MU students who meet federal income guidelines whose parents have not completed an undergraduate degree and/or students from groups underrepresented in graduate education. The purpose of the program is to provide enriching experiences that prepare eligible students for doctoral study.

Missouri Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate

Multicultural Teaching Scholars

The MTS Program is sponsored by the International Programs and Faculty Development Office and the MU Graduate School. Multicultural Teaching Scholars serve as full-time instructors who teach or co-teach a course during one of MU’s summer sessions. They also serve as ambassadors to the MU experience.

PhD Completion Project

This program is part of the nation-wide initiative, sponsored by the Council of Graduate Schools, to understand and improve graduation rates for doctoral students.
