Eligibility
- Current doctoral candidate or professor (not from Mizzou) with less than three years experience
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Member of a racial or ethnic group that is under-represented in graduate education (African-American, American Indian, Alaskan Native, Hispanic/Latino or Native Pacific Islander)
- Committed to providing high-quality, diverse educational opportunities to students
- Looking for a unique opportunity to create and instruct a class based on their teaching philosophy, experience and educational objective within their field
Funding
- Scholars will receive a $5,500 stipend for their participation in the MTS program. $1,500 of the total stipend will be paid in advance to allow scholars to secure housing and travel; the remaining $4,000 will be paid to scholars at the end of the teaching assignment.
- Scholars will be housed in University of Missouri–Columbia dormitories for the duration of their stay on campus.
- Scholars will also be responsible for meal expenses and miscellaneous travel expenses while on campus.
- Limited transportation will be provided by the University.

All interested candidates must submit application information to the academic program of interest, NOT the MU Graduate School. Inquiries about possible courses to teach and academic-program-specific issues should be directed to academic program chairs.

Application information should include:
- Letter of interest
- Curriculum Vitae
- Official transcripts
- Three letters of recommendation (concerning teaching and research skills)
Proposals will be reviewed beginning December 8, 2007. This deadline is necessary in order to provide academic programs ample time to evaluate applications and propose courses for the summer sessions.
Review of applications will continue until all MTS positions have been filled. The MU Graduate School will send award letters mid-January to early February.
