Hello from the Graduate School deans and staff. The University of Missouri is located in the middle of the United States, in Columbia, MO. Some people refer to us by one of our historic nicknames: "MU" or "Mizzou." You can drive to our university in about two hours from either St. Louis or Kansas City. The MU campus is next to downtown Columbia, so students can walk to food stores, restaurants and places of worship. Our city is clean and the people are friendly!

Graduate School Admission & Application

  • International Student PreScreening. By answering these questions you will receive basic information on foreign degree equivalency and degree program admission requirements. Go to this prescreening page to learn more and find answers to your questions.
  • MU Graduate Application for Admission. All applicants must apply to both a degree program and to the Graduate School. Find the general application instructions here.
  • International Graduate Admission. As an international student, you must complete additional mandatory application steps. Be sure to complete the additional application steps for international applicants.
  • Proof of English Language Ability. All non-native English-speaking applicants are required to provide proof of English language ability.
  • Proof of Financial Support. International applicants are also required to submit proof of financial support. This documentation may include the an affidavit of financial support.
  • Visa information is provided by the MU International Center. Click on "Prospective Students" link in the left column for important visa information.
