Enrolling at Mizzou as a UM Traveling Scholar
UM Traveling Scholars is designed to provide breadth and depth in the opportunities for graduate study offered at the four campuses in the University of Missouri System. It permits advanced graduate students at any one of the UM campuses to enroll in courses that are not available on their home campuses.
Eligibility and Applicability
Enrollment at the host campus is normally limited to no more than two courses a semester. Only students in good standing who have been admitted to a graduate degree program on the home campus may participate. Courses completed at the host campus must be applicable toward requirements for the degree sought by the student at the home campus as transfer credit. Credit earned as a UM Traveling Scholar cannot be used to satisfy the master’s or educational specialist degree residency requirement.
Enrollment Procedure
The student’s adviser initiates the student’s enrollment proposal by contacting the appropriate professor at the campus where the student wishes to study. Approval of the respective graduate deans is required. When participating in the program, the student will register for the appropriate number of hours and pay fees at the home campus.
