Faculty and Academic Program Awards
- Outstanding Departmental Contributions to Graduate Education Award
- Recognize both well-established and highly innovative contributions that graduate programs or interdepartmental units make to enhance the quality of MU graduate programs and to the successful careers of their graduate alumni. Made possible through the support of the Office of the Provost, the award provides the winning department with $30,000 ($10,000 a year for 3 years) to recognize and support efforts to further enhance the quality of graduate education. At the end of the 3-year award period, recipients must submit a report to the offices of the provost and vice provost for advanced studies/dean of the Graduate School describing the impact award funds have in furthering the quality of both the graduate program and graduate student experience.
- Graduate Faculty Mentor Award
- Recognizes the mentoring relationship a graduate faculty adviser has developed with his or her graduate students. A $3,000 honorarium is provided to the graduate faculty member selected for this award. Full-time (including 9 months), active, current faculty on the MU campus are eligible for this award.
- Graduate Award for Achievement in Service
- This award recognizes alumni who have achieved excellence that transcends their professional fields, affecting in a positive way their communities, states, nation and the world. The award honors annually one MU graduate whose highest degree (whether master's or doctoral) was granted by our university.
