- This award recognizes and rewards original scholarship and research at the doctoral level that makes an unusually significant contribution to the discipline. - Donald K Anderson Teaching Assistant Award
- Candidates for the Anderson Teaching Assistant Award are selected based on demonstrated excellence and lasting impact in the classroom, positive attitudes and personalities, enthusiasm and commitment, and mentorship to peers and/or undergraduates. To be eligible for nomination, a graduate student must be currently serving as a teaching assistant. The awardee receives a $1000 prize. Nomination forms are sent to the director of graduate studies.

- The Anderson Research Assistant Award recipient is selected based on demonstrated excellence and lasting impact through contributions to research, future promise as a researcher, originality, imagination, satisfactory progress toward a degree and research mentoring to peers. To be eligible for nomination, a graduate student must be currently serving as a research assistant. A $1000 prize is awarded to the winner. Nomination forms are sent to the director of graduate studies.

- The Nancy and Bill Laurie Scholarship for Graduate Students is made possible by a generous contribution by the Laurie family and awarded annually to a graduate student with financial need who is a graduate from a Missouri high school and who has achieved high academic excellence. The scholarship is for $2,000, and is renewable for a second year. The recipient recieves a $2,500 honorarium.
