About the Multicultural Teaching Scholars Program
Multicultural Teaching Scholars serve as full-time instructors who teach or co-teach a course during one of MU’s summer sessions. They also serve as ambassadors to the MU experience.

The MTS Program Creates Opportunities
- Increases an academic program’s ability to recruit members of under-represented groups to MU during the summer
- Prepares MU graduate and undergraduate students for the future by presenting them with faculty more representative of the diversity of American society
Who Are the Multicultural Teaching Scholars?
- Non-Mizzou doctoral candidates or professors with less than three years of experience
- Committed to providing high-quality, diverse educational opportunities to students
- Looking for a unique opportunity to create and instruct a class based on their teaching philosophy, experience and educational objective within their field
- U.S. citizens or permanent residents who contribute to the diversity goals of the University
