Proposing a Course Covering the Responsible Conduct of Research
In 2004, the Graduate School solicited proposals from graduate faculty to create or redesign a graduate course designed to improve the training of behavioral and biomedical graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in the responsible conduct of research. This project was made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Research Integrity (ORI).
Proposals
Five faculty were selected to receive $1,000 awards to create/redesign courses to promote the responsible conduct of research. Research design or methods courses were not appropriate for this proposal, nor were courses with single units on research integrity. These courses were included in a dean’s certificate on the Responsible Conduct of Research.
Faculty at the University of Missouri who are interested in creating a new course should contact the Responsible Conduct of Research program.
