Calendar for the International Teaching Assistant Program
The Orientation for New International Teaching Assistants (ONITA) for the fall 2008 semester will be held on August 20, 21 and 22, 2008, in the Geological Sciences Building.
The fall 2008 Graduate Assistant Teaching Orientation (GATO) for all new domestic and international teaching assistants will be held on August 23, 2008, in the Geological Sciences Building.
SPEAK schedule
If you need to take a SPEAK test, speak with the director of graduate studies, graduate administrative staff, or chair of your academic program. Your academic program needs to schedule an exam for you. When choosing a date to take the SPEAK, remember that results take 2 weeks to get back to your academic program. Taking the SPEAK earlier in the semester helps your academic program plan for TA assignments further in advance. If a session has fewer than 10 students registered, it may be cancelled and students will be rescheduled for a later session.

More information on the SPEAK and OPT exams. A practice SPEAK exam is available to students at the reserve desk at Ellis library.
The last bus leaves Rock Bridge at 5:45 on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, so if you take a 5:45 SPEAK, it would be best if you signed up for a 3:45 SPEAK or arranged an alternative way to get home.
OPT Exams
The ITA Program will be holding Oral Proficiency Tests (OPTs) during the following days:
