ESL Classes at Columbia College

Full- and part-time students are welcomed in the Columbia College English as a Second Language Program. There are two levels: intermediate and advanced. A TOEFL score is helpful in being placed in the program, but there is also a placement test given at the college. The oral language classes that would qualify students for ITAP rescreening are Speaking and Listening I and II. Speaking and Listening I is offered as a Tuesday/Thursday class from 1:00-3:20 p.m. and Speaking and Listening II is offered as a Monday/Wednesday class from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. Tuition and part-time fees are approximately $800 for either class. ESOL classes at Columbia College earn college credit hours that fit into elective hours in most degree programs at the college. Contact Liz Metscher at 875-7584 and be sure to inform her of the steps you have already taken.
