Stipend Information for Interns

Interns receive up to a $2,000 stipend during the internship. To ensure the receipt of the entire stipend amount, interns must attend all brown-bag sessions, GRE prep classes and scheduled events on the Emerge Summer Research calendar.

The stipend will be disbursed as follows:

• $500 on June 20, 2008
• $1000 on July 20, 2008
• The remaining amount on August 20, 2008

Stipend as Scholarship Money

The stipend is considered by the University to be scholarship income, not salary. This summer support may impact the amount of financial aid you will be awarded next school year, so be sure to consult with your school’s financial aid adviser.
