Job Search & Professional Development Resources
What are your career aspirations? Pick the resource right for you:
- Academic Careers: As in the past, Preparing Future Faculty seminars are open to all graduate students and postdocs. This fall PFF has arranged for exceptional speakers in the areas of academic life, teaching-learning, service, and co-authoring. If higher education is one of your career options, you should attend the free PFF seminars.
- Professional Development Seminars: Get exactly what you need! Graduate Student groups and graduate faculty may request custom seminars on a variety of professional skills seminars (e.g., networking, grant writing, research posters, job search, interviewing). Perfect for brown bag sessions or monthly group meetings. Held at your location. Use the online request form or contact Dr. Robin G. Walker at 573.882.8629 or walkerrob@missouri.edu.
- No Time to Attend a Seminar? Prefer to learn on a mobile device? Find CV and resume examples in Blackboard. Also tips for interviewing, cover letters and links to disciplinary job search engines. Login at https://bblearn.missouri.edu and follow these

Remember: Faculty members are critical to your success. We strongly encourage you to develop career-related "partnership" with at least one faculty mentor (or adviser). Not only will faculty mentors help you move toward your career goals, they will teach you about the norms and nuances of your discipline, help you join professional networks and groups, and write letters of reference about your abilities.
