The Heartland Graduate Workshop in Ancient Studies is a two day event during which we will hear presentations from researchers about the ancient world. On Friday October 5th we will have a reception at 5:00pm with a keynote lecture by Dr. Sarah Nooter from the University of Chicago at 6:00pm titled “Inscribing song: place as time in ancient Greek poetry”. On Saturday October 6th, we will have three panels of graduate student papers starting at 9:00am and a keynote lecture by Dr. Sarah Bond from the University of Iowa at 5:30pm titled “Space and Social Justice: Exploring GIS, Public History, and Classics”. All presentations will take place in Swallow Hall 101.
