Dr. Dunpeng Cai is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Surgery at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. After graduating from Southern Medical University, he joined Dr Shi-You Chen’s Lab and earned his Ph.D. in 2021 from the Department of Medical Pharmacology and Physiology at the University of Missouri. Dr Cai’s main research interest is the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of cardiovascular diseases, including aortic aneurysm, atherosclerosis, and stroke. Through innovation and hard work, he wishes to establish landmark discoveries which can provide cures for patients. To achieve this goal, he has been developing his skills and capabilities in molecular and cell biology, mouse microsurgery, computer-aided drug design and bioinformatics. Outside of the lab, he enjoys spending time with family.
