A Space for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars
The Grad Hub is a dedicated space designed to support success, community, and professional development for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. Located in Townsend Hall, the Grad Hub serves as a gathering place for workshops, meetings, collaboration, studying, and connection.
The Grad Hub hosts many Graduate School programs and events throughout the year. When not otherwise reserved, the space is available for:
- Graduate students and postdorctoral scholars
- Grad student and postdoc organizations
- Academic departments, graduate programs, and university units offering programs or events that directly support grad students or postdocs

The Grad Hub is a flexible space designed to support meetings, workshops, study groups, collaboration, and professional development activities.

- Capacity of up to 34 occupants
- Flexible room configuation
- Two large front display screens
- Presentation podium and speaker-facing confidence display
- Zoom-enabled technology for hybrid meetings and events
- Markerboard
Technology
The Grad Hub’s Zoom-enabled screens and cameras support hybrid meetings and events
Users must provide their own laptop to connect to the room’s audiovisual equipment. Instructions for connecting to the Zoom features are available in the space.
If you experience technical difficulties during your event, please contact the MU IT Help Desk at 573-882-5000 (opt. 2) for assistance.
Request a Reservation
Reservations are managed through the university’s Event Management System (EMS) and are subject to approval and space availability.
- Visit EMS at the link above
- Select “Reserve 111F Grad Hub Townsend Hall” from the reservation templates
- If you do not see the reservation template, please contact the Graduate School for assistance
Reservations should be submitted at least one business day before the event and may be requested up to six months in advance.
Graduate School programs and events receive priority for use of the space. Reservation requests are subject to approval and may be adjusted if needed to accommodate Graduate School programming.
Finding the Grad Hub
The Grad Hub is located in Room 111F on the first floor of Townsend Hall.
The room is located just off the main hallway on the west side of the building, near the Sixth Street exit. Look for the Grad Hub room signage outside the entrance.

Additional Important Information
The Grad Hub is a card-access space. Temporary access for approved reservations will be arranged by the Graduate School as part of the reservation process.
Important: Access to the Grad Hub requires the current physical Mizzou ID card. Mizzou Mobile ID is not currently supported for access to the Grad Hub. Individuals using an older ID card may need to obtain an updated card before access can be granted.
Please enter the Grad Hub through the main hallway entrance using your assigned card access. To maintain building security, the rear door should remain closed and should not be propped open except as needed for loading or unloading materials.
Townsend Hall is generally accessible to graduate students during the following hours:
- Monday-Thursday: 6 a.m.-10 p.m.
- Friday: 6 a.m.-6 p.m.
If access outside of these hours is needed, please contact the Townsend Hall Building Coordinator to inquire about available building access options.
To ensure that the Grad Hub remains a welcoming and functional space for all users, please:
- Return furniture to its original arrangement
- Remove personal belongings when you leave
- Respect other users and shared spaces
- Follow university policies and facility guidelines
- Inform the Graduate School of any supply shortage (dry erase markers, etc.)
- Ensure both doors are closed and locked when leaving the space
If you encounter any issues with the room upon arrival, please notify the Graduate School so we can address them promptly.
Food and beverages are permitted in the Grad Hub. If food will be served at your event, please indicate this when submitting your reservation request through EMS. Depending on the nature of the event, a university food permit may be required.
To help maintain the space:
- Remove all perishable food items when your event concludes
- Dispose of food waste and catering containers in the dumpster located behind Townsend Hall. Do not leave perishable food waste in the Grad Hub.
- Wipe down tables and other surfaces after use (wipes are available in the room)
- Return the room to a clean and organized condition
Unused, non-perishable disposable supplies (e.g., unopened napkins, plates, cups, or utensils) may be left in the room for future use.
