Prerequisites

Students have passed either the entrance exam in music history or the graduate review course in music history and are enrolled in a graduate music degree program.

Requirements (15 credit hours)

• Introduction to Graduate Studies in Music I and II (3 credit hours)
• One period course (3 credit hours)
• One genre course (3 credit hours)
• One focal composer course (3 credit hours)
• One “capstone” independent study (3 credit hours)
• Introduction to Ethnomusicology may be substituted for a period, genre, or focal composer course
