Interested in applying for external funding? Request a consultation with Dr. Elizabeth “Liz” Bent to discuss your specific funding needs, design searches specific to you, and learn how to write and submit your own grants. Dr. Bent is the Graduate School’s Research and Grant Development Specialist. She develops programming for emerging scholars (graduate students and postdoctoral scholars) to support them on their research development journey. She is here to assist emerging scholars interested in seeking external funding.

Keep an eye on emails from your DGS, the Graduate School’s website, and our newsletter for grant workshops and funding opportunities
Use the Graduate School Resources Canvas Site for information about fellowship and grant writing. Email Amy Rhea at rheaa@missouri.edu to request to be added to the site

- Pivot is a database of funding opportunities sponsored by the government, private foundations, nonprofit organizations, and professional societies. MU subscribes to this service; current Mizzou faculty and students have free access. To use the database, you must first create an account.
- The Graduate School lists current external funding opportunities (updated weekly) on our website.
- The MU Office of Global and National Fellowships lists nationally prestigious fellowships and scholarships.
- The University of Illinois has a very user-friendly database as well: University of Illinois Fellowship Finder
