New Graduate Student Orientation Programs

New Graduate Student Orientation and Welcome for All New Graduate Students

The Graduate School holds one large general orientation session at the beginning of each Fall semester.  Students beginning graduate study at MU in the preceding semesters are also welcome to attend. Graduate School’s new student orientation for the Fall 2026 semester will be held on campus Monday, August 17 in Jesse Auditorium, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Dr. Jeni Hart, Dean of the Graduate School, will welcome you to graduate study at Mizzou, introduce you to the ways in which the Graduate School can assist you as you pursue a graduate degree or certificate, provide important campus updates, and you’ll have an opportunity to hear from our panel of experienced graduate students and faculty mentors.

Registration is not required for this event. Although attendance is not mandatory, we strongly encourage all new graduate students to attend if their schedule permits.

Q&A Sessions: Student Health Insurance, Insurance Subsidies, & Tuition Remission

Please make plans to attend one of our virtual question and answer session about student health insurance, insurance subsidies, and tuition remission. Registration is coming soon for our pre-arrival sessions.

Review health insurance and insurance subsidy information here.

Review tuition remission information here.

We encourage you to review all information regarding this topic prior to the start of the semester.

Online Orientation Information

We understand that not everyone is able to attend our orientation session in person. A video orientation will be provided on this page to serve as a sincere welcome, an overview of the role of the graduate school, and an introduction to a number of helpful individuals with whom you’ll be working as you are enrolled as a graduate student at Mizzou. Our Graduate Student Welcome and Orientation video will be posted in mid-August.
