Towards a Process-Based Pedagogy – Online Via Zoom

January 31 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

We’ll gather on Zoom to watch a pre-recorded conference presentation that considers how, over the last couple of years, Generative AI has gotten better and better at generating human-sounding outputs. It’s getting harder to distinguish a human-generated product from a bot-generated product. This puts teachers in a tough position. How can they help ensure that students are gaining the life and work skills for future success, if they can’t be sure what level of agency the student has in the final product? This session provides one possible answer. We can shift from a product-based pedagogy to a process-based pedagogy. But what does this look like? How can we encourage students to value the process of creation? What are our roles as educators in this kind of pedagogy?
Speaker: Jason Gulya, Berkeley College

By the end of this session, participants should be able to plan how they might implement a processed based pedagogy in their own classes.
