The Graduate Faculty Senate is the elected representative body of the university's Graduate Faculty and meets monthly during the academic year to ensure that the University lives up to its high expectations for graduate education.

The senate exercises oversight on academic matters such as setting policy related to graduate students and their education; graduate courses and their approval; and other curricular matters, including approval of new graduate certificates and degrees.

Regulations concerning graduate students and graduate programs are determined by the graduate faculty, in accordance with the University of Missouri’s Collected Rules and Regulations (300.010 E.4).
