Each graduate department and each graduate degree-granting area program shall be affiliated with the Graduate Faculty Senate.

Every school or college led by a dean and has graduate programs is represented on the Senate. No more than 3 representatives per unit will be allowed. In addition, one member is elected as an at large member representing Directors of Graduate Studies and one member represents the Graduate and Professional Council. Senators serve a 3-year elected term.
