Founded in 1976, the National Name Exchange (NNE) is a consortium of over fifty nationally known universities that annually collect and exchange the names of their talented and underrepresented ethnic minority students who are in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of their undergraduate education.
The purpose of the Exchange is to ensure that participating universities continue to identify a pool of qualified students who could be recruited to graduate programs at these institutions. The consortium of universities conducts other activities consistent with the national efforts to increase the enrollment of traditionally underrepresented students in graduate education.
For more information, visit the NNE's websiteNational Name Exchange Database Access
The NNE Database includes student names, contact information, undergraduate major and institution, the graduate field of interest, and research experience. Please refrain from sending out mass messages to students. The Database should be used as a targeted recruitment tool for graduate programs that match students’ fields of interest as specified in the database. In the initial communication with prospective students, your program should let them know where you obtained their information.
NOTE—The Excel file is password-protected to protect student information captured in the NNE database. The database is only valid for a year.
Access to the file and the password are managed by Dr. Arouca via email for faculty and staff at the University of Missouri involved in graduate recruitment. Please email her your name, department/program, role in the department regarding recruitment and the database you want access to.
