MO Federal Data Proposal Development Seminar
November 19 @ 9:45 am - 11:45 am
This four-part seminar is focused on developing and submitting a proposal for research in the Missouri Federal Statistical Research Data Center (FSRDC)
The Missouri FSRDC offers researchers the opportunity to conduct research using restricted, respondent-level data from federal censuses, surveys, and administrative data sets. Inside the RDC, approved researchers can choose from over 350 datasets from a range of federal statistical agencies, including the Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Bureau of Economic Analysis, and the National Center for Health Statistics. Access to restricted data can enable researchers to perform research and analysis at a level of granularity and sophistication that is not possible using publicly available data.
This seminar is open to all MU faculty and graduate students who have a research interest that could be facilitated by access to RDC data. The goal is for participants to develop a research proposal that is ready to submit after the final session. New and experienced researchers alike can benefit from this seminar. The Census Bureau recently participated in launching the Standard Application Process (SAP). While the SAP streamlined the proposal development and submission process, the format of a SAP proposal is quite different from what researchers may have used before.
Interested individuals should contact Ken Zahringer, Missouri FSRDC Administrator, at kenneth.a.zahringer@census.gov if they would like to attend a seminar session.
