Grad Students are invited to take part in a Learn & Write Retreat #2 on October 24. Sign up below! We’ll have coffee, tea and snacks ready for you at 9 a.m. You’ll enjoy a brief presentation on Academic Language Tips & Tricks to Refine Your Academic Language at 9:30 a.m. led by Dr. Christy Goldsmith, Associate Director of the Campus Writing Program. This session will focus on polishing academic voice. Bring a piece of your writing so you can try out some new strategies for varying sentence structure, diversifying verb use, and improving conceptual transitions in academic writing. You’ll have a chance to ask any questions you might have, and then you’ll have time to work on your writing project until noon. On writing retreat days, Conley House is quiet, and we open up our big tables and comfy chairs so that you can have a space to focus on your writing.
