Dr. Srikant Venkitachalam studies experimental evolution and evolutionary genomics at the King Lab, Department of Biological Sciences, University of Missouri. His current postdoctoral research involves tracking the evolution of laboratory populations of fruit flies subjected to chronic high temperature conditions. Prior to joining the University of Missouri, he obtained his undergraduate degree specializing in Zoology from Delhi University, India and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees studying evolutionary biology at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bengaluru, India. Outside of his research, Dr. Srikant enjoys spending time at museums and zoos, playing videogames and following geopolitics.
