Dr. Sakil Mahmud is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Koo Lab, Dept. of Biochemistry, University of Missouri-Columbia. Funded by NSF, his work explores modulating jasmonate biosynthesis in response to mechanical wounding. He has a Ph.D. in Plant Cell Biology from the University of Bonn, Germany, with a focus on jasmonate signaling and drought stress resistance in Arabidopsis thaliana. He did his M.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Bangladesh Agricultural University. Dr. Mahmud is dedicated to advancing the understanding of plant stress adaptation mechanisms.
